It’s that time of year again. Christmas! Have you got all of your party food ready? Because I believe the best part about Christmas is the wonderful food that you have and all of the chocolate and cakes to indulge in. Want to try something new this year? Want to do something that’s fun for all the family? Well get your baking aprons at the ready because here I’m about to show you how you can create the Perfect Christmas Cupcakes. They are simple, easy to make, child proof and most importantly they are so delicious! So let’s get baking!
1- Ingredients you’ll need for this reicipie:
♦ Simple chocolate cupcake mix
♦ x1 pack of Fairy Cakes
♦ x1 pack of Pretzels
♦ x1 tube of Smarties
♦ x1 box of Icing Sugar
♦ x1 Pack of stencils.
♦ x1 egg
All of the ingredients used are from Morrisons.
2- Now that you have all of your ingredients sorted you need to make sure you have everything set out ready to use. This means clearing space so the whole family can join in. Also make sure everything you use is clean and make sure that everybody washes their hands.
3- Now add your egg, cupcake mixture and 60ml of water into a large bowl. Now mix for 2-3 minutes until it’s smooth and runny. This can get messy! So make sure you supervise children. Also as you’re doing this make sure you pre-heat the oven to 190°C/375°F/Gas Mark 5.
4- Now you should already have your baking tray ready with the cupcake cases on. Now you can scoop some of the mixture into the bun cases. This will be very messy, make sure children are supervised. Once it’s done place tray in the middle of the oven for 12-15 mins.
5- Whilst your buns are in the oven, start your icing sugar. Pour some of the icing sugar into a bowl and add water, keep adding each ingredient until it’s a thick mixture. I don’t use measurements as I don’t stick to them. It’s essential that it’s a nice thick mixture.
6- Now your cupcakes should be done. Do not let children near the oven! With an oven glove take your buns out of the oven and place on the side to cool down. Don’t worry if they need longer to cook the 12-15 minutes is a guideline. Don’t let them burn.
7- Put the cupcakes onto a plate to cool. Now take a sharp knife and slice a round hole in the pre-made cupcakes you have bought. This is to make the reindeer’s nose. Please ensure no children are around the knives whilst doing this as this can lead to serious accidents.
8- Stencil Time! Taking a cool cupcake you can pick a stencil you like and sprinkle left over icing sugar onto the stencil, this can be tricky for young children. Don’t sprinkle too much on as you won’t be able to see the pattern. Once done lift gently to see pattern.
9-Once you’ve made your stencil buns you can finish your Reindeer buns. This part is fun! Take your Smarties and use the icing sugar as glue to stick on the reindeer nose eyes and also a red Smartie for the nose. Then place 2 pretzels at the top as antlers.
10- There you have it! Perfect Christmas Cupcakes which I can guarantee will be loved! These cupcakes are perfect if you have lots of people round for Christmas or if you’re the person picked to bring the cupcakes at the Christmas party. They are cheap, easy to make and absolutely delicious!
